LIB Dem candidate Chris Davies got on his soapbox in Prestwich and Bury to argue his case.
Mr Davies is the party's only MEP in the North West region, and is confident of at least doubling that total in the elections.
The party is pitching itself against eurosceptics, calling for changes in specific measures like the Common Agricultural Policy but arguing strongly that Britain's interests are best met within the EU.
Mr Davies is top of the Lib Dem list of candidates and during his tour emphasised the role he has played in strengthening Europe's environment policies.
