BOLTON'S Senior Inter-League side proved too strong for Bury with a convincing innings win at Darcy Lever Cricket Club.

The win, by 107 runs to 71, was Bolton's third of the season in four matches against their local rivals.

Bolton opened the game at a steady pace, with every batter scoring in the first round.

Louise Smethurst topped the scores with 18, followed by Joanne Mullard on 17, and Sarah Gradwell with 15.

Bury could only reply with 41, and were forced to follow on. Bolton piled on the pressure with an inspiring display of fielding, taking five batters for no runs in the first round, and Bury were only able to add 30 to their score.

Jackie Pickering was excellent as captain and was awarded the player's player trophy for her performance.

Rupert Ladies maintained their 100 per cent record at the top of the BSF Rounders League Section A by winning their top-of-the-table clash with Little Lever. Both sides had gone into the match having won their first six league games, but Rupert ended Lever's perfect record with a 131-107 victory.

Another 100 per cent record was ended in Section J, with Three Pigeons losing to in-form Mytham Ladies -- a result that leaves both teams level at the top with Jacksons Van Hire.

Mytham needed only one innings to win a game that was full of great catches and good bowling, and featured an outstanding performance from Lindsi Jackson, who scored 20 runs as the last batter.
