FOR the past few weeks I have been unfortunate to have to use crutches and I would like to say a big thank you to the people of Bolton, especially the ones who push past you in shop doorways then let the door close in your face -- the ones who can't wait to pass you and nearly take the crutches with them.
Then there are the bus drivers.
They see you at the bus stop on crutches but they don't lower the floor. Then, when you are on the bus they don't wait until you are seated. Off they go with a jerk. When you ring the bell to get off they don't slow down and stop smoothly. They stamp on the brake when you get to the bus stop.
I really don't know how people who are disabled cope with such rudeness.
But, to the ones who are courteous and kind a sincere thank you to them.
