TWO local take-aways are hoping to batter the competition for the title Fish and Chip Shop of the Year.
Our Plaice in Bolton Street, Ramsbottom and Castle Hill Chippy in Castle Hill Road, Hindley are both lining up to do battle.
They are up against 53 others around the North-west for the regional title and the chance to go forward to the national competition.
Customers now have two weeks to vote for their favourite by filling out nomination forms available in the shops and then the 15 most popular chippies will be visited by mystery judges.
The regional winners will be announced in September with the grand final in London in January.
