AFTER a meeting of the Planning Committee and local residents at the launderette, situated at the junction of Empire Road and Bury Road, Breightmet, the residents were under the impression that the application would be refused.
Residents were told by some members that the position of the site was unsuitable because of traffic and parking concerns.
It was a surprise to learn that the application has been passed.
One has to wonder what happened in the time between meeting the residents at 11am and the Planning Committee meeting at 2pm, to have a change of mind.
Once again politicians are guilty of not listening to the concerns of residents and constituents.
No wonder voters are disillusioned and fail to turn out to vote.
