AFTER his hilarious 'duet' with singing legend Engelbert Humperdinck, comic Peter Kay finds the tables turned in the latest John Smith's advert for the Euro 2004 championships.
The Bolton comedian is seemingly caught unawares when radio and TV presenter Danny Baker and a film crew descend on his home inviting him to take part in a soap powder Doorstep Challenge.
Wearing a gleaming white Bolton Wanderers football shirt, Peter absent-mindedly answers the doorbell and finds himself confronted by the enthusiastic microphone-waving Baker.
When asked if he'd swap his one packet of biological powder for two large packets of ordinary washing powder, Kay agrees without a moment's hesitation. The exchange made, Kay unceremoniously shuts the front door leaving Baker looking surprised and confused.
The 30-second ad, which was filmed last year, will be shown throughout the Euro 2004 Championships.
Peter's "Ave it!" catchphrase caught the nation's imagination after it featured in a John Smith's advert shown during the World Cup two years ago.
Peter, aged 30, has just begun filming his new TV series Road to Nowhere, based on the adventures of Phoenix Nights doormen Max and Paddy.
