ABOUT 80 pupils will take part in the first Bolton School festival on Wednesday.
Eight primary schools are to send boys and girls to take part in football, rugby, hockey and other sporting competitions.
The day will culminate in a relay race and trophies will be presented to the winning schools.
England and Bradford Bulls rugby league stars Paul Johnson and Rob Parker will also be there to meet the youngsters.
It is hoped the festival will become an annual event.
Bolton School teacher Guy Lovgreen said: "We are very excited and are hoping it will be a fantastic success.
"We are aiming to expand it next year and we have already had a lot of interest from other schools."
