A VOLKSWAGEN Golf suffered serious interior damage on Saturday afternoon after an electrical fault sparked a fire in the engine.
The male driver, in his early 20s, had pulled over on to the side of Campbell Street, Bolton, after he noticed smoke coming from the engine. Fire destroyed the interior and boot of the car -- although the engine was undamaged. It took firefighters half an hour to bring the blaze under control.
