THE Anthony Axford Bolton Association U15s cricket side played their first game of the season in the LCB Michael Roche Trophy against the Salford Youth League at Darcy Lever.
The Salford League elected to bat against the opening attack of Cain Bentley and Arran Leach, but a first over mix-up ,and smart fielding by Clifton's Jamie Royle, produced a run-out, which set the tone for the Salford innings.
The batting then crumbled to 34 all out with Bentley (3-6), and Leach (2-12).
Royle and Richard Watt of Walshaw then completed a ten wicket Association victory.
The Association take on the Northern League in the next round on June 27, at Darcy Lever CC starting at 1.30.
