FORGET Pele or George Best, there's only one big name that inspires England's Euro 2004 star Wayne Rooney - and that's larger-than-life funnyman Peter Kay.
Football fans hope that the Bolton-born star could provide the spark that drives the teenage soccer sensation to glory in the Euro 2004 contest.
The 18 year-old Everton star is such a fan of Peter, that he even watches his DVDs as he trains and works out.
Rooney says his favourite sketch from Peter's now well-know repertoire is part of a John Smith's bitter advert featuring -- you guessed it -- football.
The young England star said: "When we go into the massage room, we put a DVD on and watch it. We watched a bit of Peter Kay the other night before I got my head down and went to bed.
"He's very funny. There's a great one where he is kicking a ball up, and then shouts "Ave it."
