PAUL Warhurst has given Wanderers a derby boost by declaring himself fit for tomorrow's Old Trafford derby.

The midfield anchor man has recovered from the head injury that forced him to withdraw in the first half of the Reebok victory over Villa and is raring to go.

"I'm not suffering any after effects," he confirmed. "I'll definitely be in contention for the trip to Old Trafford."

Warhurst, a boyhood Manchester City fan, is relishing the prospect of taking something from United but admits it will be tough.

He added: "United just keep rolling along. People say they are not going to do it this season but you can guarantee they'll be there or thereabouts.

"They may not be at their peak yet but they are not losing too many games and it will be frightening when they do come into their real form and get on a winning run.

"Everybody knows what they are like and nothing really changes at United as far as I can see.

"They are still a squad packed with outstanding players and will always be a handful, even if they are not on top form."
