SAM Allardyce paid tribute to his players and the fans for helping his side land a point against the odds.

Michael Ricketts' last-gasp equaliser brought some satisfaction after what had been, up to then, a bad day for the manager with two players sent off and, at one point. trailing 2-0.

"I'm more than satisfied with a point. It almost feels like a victory having to come back from what we had to suffer.

"But the disappointment for me is that we felt the 11 men we put out were good enough to get three points against a Leicester side that is on a bad run at the moment.

"But in the end we felt that the possibility of those three points was taken away from us by poor decisions. In the end the nine players were magnificent, along with the subs that came on."

The manager admitted he thought the chance of a point had gone when Per Frandsen's injury time free kick hit a post and rebounded into the grateful hands of Leicester keeper Ian Walker.

"We battled on though and in the end I thought it was a deserved point.

"When all is said and done though, the fans were magnificent for us today.

"They were right behind us from start to finish. They kept us going all the way through the game and helped us get that point.

"It was great to hear them cheering for us and it really does make a difference."
