THESE scantily-clad women gave passers-by more than they bargained for when they walked through the streets in their bikinis.

Motorists got an unexpected eyeful as staff from Asda in Astley Bridge got down to their swimwear.

But the naughtiness was all for a good cause with cash going to the Bolton branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Walkers from the superstore raised plenty of smiles as they trekked into the town centre during a four-mile stroll.

Money was collected in buckets to go towards guide dog training programmes.

Asda staff were also joined by guide dogs and their owners and some trainers from the charity's headquarters on Lime Street.

A cold start to the morning soon gave way to sunshine to banish any prospect of goosepimples.

Organiser Annette Lunt said: "We've been lucky with the weather. We wanted to do it in just bikinis but head office said that they had to be worn over our clothes."

Andrew Collier, who is blind, and comes from Darcy Lever, said that his labradour Tarnet had given him a new lease of life.

He added: "He's my best friends and with me every second of the day. He's made such a difference."

Asda allows guide dogs and their trainers to visit to get familiar with the store before they are sent away to their owners.

Dog trainer Richard Whomsley said that guide dogs gave their owners a new found confidence and independance.
