GREATER Manchester Police are working closely with forces across the country to tackle hate crime.
Packs containing information on bullying, personal safety, local contact groups and domestic violence are now available in community centres and libraries.
Self-reporting forms are also included which allow victims and other people affected by hate crime to notify the authorities about incidents and seek advice.
Inspector Keith Metcalfe, GMP community relations said: "This is an effective partnership initiative between 23 police forces in England and Wales, including GMP, that aims to combat hate crime, by raising awareness and encouraging victims to come forward.
"We know that hate crime is under reported so by encouraging more witnesses and victims to report incidents, we hope to prevent other people becoming victims of hate crime.
"If victims do not want to give their name or address, they can still report it without providing those details."
