UP to four million business travellers could be carrying out trips without insurance, Sainsbury's Bank has warned.

According to the bank, only half of the consumer travel insurance policies available offer any kind of business cover. Many travellers assume that they are covered by their employers' or their own insurance policies, while others overlook insurance altogether because their trips are so short.

Michael Liddell, Travel Insurance Manager for Sainsbury's bank said: "Business travellers need to check whether their employer provides them with insurance and if not, they need to make sure that they are covered under their own personal travel insurance policy, extending it for business travel if need be."
