WANDERERS will face stiff competition from Spain if they pursue their interest in Inter Milan defender Jeremie Brechet.
Allardyce who was in Italy last week for talks with a number of potential transfer targets, is understood to be keen on the Frenchman after an unsuccessful attempt to sign him on loan during the January transfer window. Inter now say Brechet can leave the San Siro and sources in France suggest Spanish club Real Sociedad are favourites for his signature.
