MORE than 100 people enjoyed the weekend sunshine for a sponsored walk up Rivington Pike.
The 14th annual hike on Sunday was organised by Horwich New Heart Club, which hopes to raise money towards the purchase of a £1 million cardiac scanner for Wythenshawe Hospital.
The club has raised £140,000 over the past 15 years to help heart and lung patients at the hospital, which last year carried out 31 heart, lung or combined transplants.
William Woodward, vice-chairman of the club, said: "We don't have the total money raised from the event yet, but the day was a great success and the weather really helped."
"We don't have the total money raised from the event yet, but we have raised around £140,000 through various events over the last 15 years."
