My mother has recently lost her eldest brother and while looking through some old photos has found a newspaper cutting from an old paper showing all three of her brothers (all of whom have now passed away) when they returned home from the Second World War.
She seems to remember it being a regular thing to publish photos of servicemen but she can't remember which paper it was. She thinks it could of been one of the local journals rather than the evening paper. As the cutting is damaged and part of the picture of the eldest is missing I would like to try to get her a copy.
All I know about when it was published is that it was the 10th of an unknown month (which ends in er) in 1944. I know that Bolton library has old copies of local papers but I was wondering if anyone could tell me which paper it is most likely to be to try to narrow my search a bit. They lived in Kearsley if that helps at all. I would be very grateful for any information which may help.
I can be contacted by e-mail at Drop a line...sr.alker@ntlworld.com or by post.
