BOLTON'S young badminton players proved to be the County's best at the Lancashire U19s tournament at Preston.
The town, under the guidance of manager Ray Schofield, entered two teams, with the first team of Lizzie Holt, Emma Greenwood, Matthew Green, Anthony Fox and Chas Parry winning the event.
The second team missed out on a semi-final place by only two points. That team comprised Stuart Powers, John Burrows, Tom Monks, Jackie Carter, Danielle Skelly and Madelaine Harrison.
Bolton Badminton League officials, who watched the event, praised the youngsters for their standard of play and good sportsmanship.
