EVERYONE'S talking - about a Bolton group called Girl Talk.

And organisers are delighted that their idea for a women-only group offering a safe, interesting night out for local women of all ages is such a success.

Lynda Gower and Sue Green re-launched the group in February with a meeting at the Pack Horse Hotel, in Bradshawgate, Bolton. And already, females aged from 13 to 70 are regularly attending monthly meetings.

Sue said: "We are always asking what sort of thing members would like to do and then we try and organise it for them."

So far, it has been visits from House of Color image consultants, and a healthy-eating chef. Forthcoming attractions include a Wacky Wedding on Sunday, July 4 - when members come in full wedding guest regalia and are joined by actors in a fun "event".

There is also makeover and beauty advice and a trip to Chester on future agendas.

"There seems to be a real gap for an accessible women's group that is near parking, easy to get to and which offers an informal atmosphere," said Lynda.

"We are even happy to help with transport if women have transport difficulties. We get a cross-section of types at the meetings and it's always lively."

Membership is £10 a year but anyone can try a meeting free, and there is only a nominal fee at each meeting after that.

She added: "It is sometimes difficult for women to go on their own to meetings, but it is no problem at Girl Talk because it is a very friendly place."

The next meeting is on Thursday, May 27, at 7.30pm. For details of the Girl Talk meetings, contact Lynda during the evening on 01204 407040.
