AFTER this week's Cosmo League performances, the League's name should be changed to The Father and Son League. Two matches saw family ties assist in vital wins.
The first match saw Provincial beat CM Autosprays with P Dearnley and F Dearnley demonstrate that batting skills do run in the family. CM Autosprays reaching 115 for 8 off their 20 overs. Provincial finished on 116 for 2 with their pick of the batsmen being P Dearnley 43no, and F Dearnley 34.
The second of this week's games was also dominated by one family, with the NHS Trusts P Cranage and J Cranage helping them to a hard fought victory over Heaton Taverners. Heaton Taverners reaching 105 for 6 off their 20 overs, J Cranage claiming 5 wickets for 22 runs (4 wickets off of 4 balls) . NHS finished on 109 for 4 with the P Cranage batting a commendable 33no.
The final game of this week saw a poor bowling performance by The Ridgway Arms gift Aleef Curtains with their third win of the season. Aleef batting first were all out for 137, over 30 of these runs coming from wide balls. In reply The Ridgway could only reach 118 for 8 from their 20 overs.
