FIREMEN were called to deal with a house fire in Lever Edge, Bolton, early today after a pair of trousers caught fire.
The trousers had been left to dry on a bedroom gas wall heater in the semi-detached council house on Holmeswood Road and were set alight.
A man sleeping in the room woke when he smelled smoke just after 6am and rang the fire service.
The trousers and a section of floorboards were destroyed and the rest of the house damaged by smoke.
Firemen had to give a 32-year-old man and a 22-year-old man oxygen at the scene and they went to hospital for a check up.
