A MAN brandishing a knife threatened staff at a newsagents in Astley Bridge.
He burst into Crompton's Newsagents,on Higher Bridge Street, at 6.45am yesterday and threatened the male shopkeeper before making off with cash and cigarettes worth around £100.
Police were called to the scene and recovered a knife which had been found by two passers-by. DCI Andy Aston said: "We are looking for any witnesses to the incident, particularly the two people who found the knife."
