HUNDREDS of pounds worth of school sports equipment went up in smoke in an arson attack on Sunday.
Firefighters went to Thornleigh Salesian College on Moss Bank Way, Astley Bridge, at 2pm after vandals had broken in to and set fire to a container in the school grounds which stored cricket equipment, football nets and posts. Police are investigating.
