ENJOYING the spring sunshine and the golden fields of daffodils is six-year-old Georgia Miller from Walshaw, Bury.

Her family made the most of the fine weather and went a walk round Moses Gate Country Park, in Bolton. But, while the calendars tell us it is springtime, it would seem the weather is having a little trouble keeping up with the new season.

Meteorologists forecast yet more dull and overcast weather for Bolton this weekend, with patches of rain expected.

SPRING may be here according to the calendars but the weather seems to be having a little trouble keeping up with the new season.

This weekend, meteorologists are forecasting yet more dull and overcast weather in Bolton, which follows indifferent weather over the Easter weekend.

Jeremy Plester, weather expert at PA Weather, said: "In terms of this weekend it is going to be fairly slow.

"Saturday looks like it is going to be generally overcast with patches of rain.

"Very slowly, this will move away through the course of the afternoon."

He added that on Sunday, current indications show that there may be quite a bad spell of weather around the middle of the day right through Bolton.

This Easter, Bolton had intermittent rain over the holiday weekend with a few intervals of spring sunshine.

Last Easter weekend, the weather again was described by weather experts as fairly dull and rainy, although it was preceded by a week of dazzling sunshine and souring temperatures.
