RESIDENTS have objected to proposals to build a detached house in a Horwich conservation area.
A planning application to build a two storey house on Cooke Street, within the Wallsuches Conservation Area, has been submitted to Bolton Council for approval.
People living in Cooke Street, Mill Lane and Bridge Street claim the construction of the house would increase traffic using the quiet roads and is unsuitable for the location. Horwich town councillors agreed with the residents and have followed planning officers advice and recommended it for refusal.
Cllr Bob Ronson said: "The problem is that there are a lot of unadopted roads round there which already cause problems for residents. There is also the fact that it is a conservation area to consider -- this is a totally inappropriate building for that area."
