Wanderers Reserves 0 Blackburn Reserves 3: WANDERERS found an experienced Blackburn side too hot to handle when they went down to a second successive defeat at the County Ground, Leyland, on Monday night.
The Rovers second-string, including Peter Enckelman, Vratislav Gresko, Lorenzo Amoruso, Dwight Yorke and Matt Jansen, scored twice in seven first-half minutes and never looked in danger of surrendering their advantage.
Jermaine Johnson tested Enckelman in the first half, and Dwight Pezzarossi -- on the bench at Arsenal on Saturday -- missed a chance to pull one back early in the second, but Rovers were worthy winners.
Adam Nelson put them in front on 25 minutes when he headed Yorke's left-wing cross past Donovan Ricketts and Jensen doubled the advantage on 32 minutes when he converted a left-wing corner.
Enckelman's only other task in the second period was to collect a Johnson shot, before Rovers' Jemal Johnson got the third from the penalty spot nine minutes from time.
It might have been four had Ricketts not made a stunning last-minute save from Gresko's curling free-kick.
