I FOUND these two pictures taken at the Crowthorne Children's Home at Edgworth intriguing, if only because of the styles of clothes.

The group of adults, with three young girls standing in front, was taken in August 1937 at the summer fete. Those pictured include Mrs Smalley, J.P., (opener), with Mr Stuart Russell, M.P., who presided, together with Councillor and Mrs T. Lomax, the Rev. J. Platt, M.A., and Messrs W.H. Wadham, J.P. (former governor), E. Shutt (governor), T.W. Kissack (secretary, and H.M. Holden (co-treasurer).

The other photograph, bottom, shows some of the children, at Christmas.

It was taken sometime in the 1940s, and the youngsters are pictured with their presents.
