ALAN Ayckbourn's Bedroom Farce, a hit production when it was at the National Theatre in 1977, is getting a local airing, courtesy of Bolton Little Theatre.

Definitely not a sex romp, says BLT, Bedroom Farce is as funny and relevant now as it was nearly 30 years ago.

Three bedrooms are inhabited and invaded by four couples in varied pairings. As a character from the play says: "You can tell a great deal from people's bedrooms, if you know what to look for."

Unlike some of Ayckbourn's complex later plays, which can be rather dark, Bedroom Farce is described as "a classic, hilarious farce -- suitable for all the family".

Harold Smith directs Stephanie and Kevin Shipley, Frances Clemmitt, Dave Eyre, Debbie Kelly, Andrew Close, Audrey Lias and Michael Tatman in the production.

The play runs from Saturday to April 3. Tickets may be obtained from the theatre box office on 01204 524469 between 6.15pm and 8pm, and from the Albert Halls Ticket Office: 01204 334400.
