A CONCERNED mother has appealed to her missing daughter to let her know she is safe and well.

Pamela Stapleton, of Darwen Road, Bromley Cross, last saw her daughter Janet Malseed, aged 25, on Boxing Day.

Janet, of Wrenbury Drive, Sharples, then gave up job at McDonalds, Knowsley Street, Bolton, suddenly on Wednesday January 7. She had worked there for six years.

Repeated efforts by Mrs Stapleton to contact her daughter since have failed. She said she became worried for her safety and reported her as missing with police.

Mrs Stapleton, aged 61, said: "We love her very much and we are only interested in knowing that she is all right. I just need to know that she is all right.

"She is not in any trouble. We will help her with any problem she might have. We just want her to call us or the police."

Janet lived alone. She is described as white, 5ft 6ins, with a slim build and long brown hair. She has a brother and a sister.

Mrs Stapleton said it was not uncommon for Janet not to be in touch with her family for a couple of months, but she has never gone missing before.

She said Janet may have had a problem at work.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "We are concerned for Janet's welfare and just want to know that she is safe and well.

"We would urge Janet, or anyone who knows of her whereabouts to contact the police."
