THE annual Winter Hill Fell Race takes place on Sunday, February 15.
The 11-mile race includes a 2,700ft climb and is not suitable for novices.
Starting at 10am from Higher Rivington Barn, Rivington Lane, Horwich, the race visits nine check-points before finishing back up at the barn. Registration takes place at the lower barn.
Runners must be aged over 18, must carry windproof body cover, a map of the course, compass, whistle and emergency food.
Entry costs £4 or £10 on the day. Entry forms are available from local leisure centres or from Horwich Harriers website www.horwichrmiha rriers.co.uk
