RADIO Moss Bank Park went on the air in July, 1971 . . . but only for a few hours.
Members of the Bolton and District Amateur Radio Society set up a mobile radio station there and, using a portable transmitter and a 35ft. high mast, they got in touch with radio hams in Germany, Hungary and Sweden. Object of the mobile station was to show the public some of the work of the society and attract new members.
