RESIDENTS who wanted to have two protected trees chopped down in Farnworth had their planning application rejected by planning chiefs.
Neighbours at The Wesleys, Farnworth, wanted two horsechestnut trees felled because fallen wet leaves were a danger. Children were also throwing missiles to dislodge conkers and were causing a nuisance.
But Bolton Council's planning committee said the felling of the two trees would be unacceptable and damage the character, appearance and amenity of the area.
