THERE are still some tickets left for Bolton Choral Union's Concert on November 22 at the Victoria Hall, featuring Claire Moore.
The first half of the concert features pieces by Andrew Lloyd Webber, such as Memory from Cats, excerpts from Phantom of the Opera and many more by the 100-strong choir, and the 35 players of the Camerata Concert Orchestra.
The second half of the concert is a piece for choir, orchestra and soloists: The Armed Man - A Mass for Peace, by Karl Jenkins.
Written in 2000 for the new Millennium this is a choral work, often played on Classic FM and currently at number 6 in their "hit parade".
BCU is also using a special sound engineer to reproduce the various sound effects such as marching feet, rain and the chimes of Big Ben needed by this evocative work.
Tickets can be booked at Sweetens bookshop, Booths Music Shop and the Town Hall Information Centre and also by ringing 01204 591563 or 492301.
