A DOCTOR is facing a possible prison sentence after being convicted of sexually assaulting two women at his surgery.

Former police surgeon Dr Dilip Gore, aged 55, a doctor for more than 25 years, denied the charges but was convicted of five charges of indecent assault at his trial at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court.

He was cleared of a sixth charge.

The court was told he repeatedly cupped a female patient's breasts in his hands and laughed "you have big boobs" after giving her a check up for a headache at his surgery in Cleggs Lane, Little Hulton.

He later bombarded the 43-year-old woman with calls on her mobile phone, pestering her for a date.

Gore, of May Road, Swinton, was also said to have placed his hands down the trousers of a 26-year-old woman as she tried to hitch them up behind a filing cabinet.

Giving evidence, he told the jury: "I don't think I did anything wrong".

He said there was "no truth whatsoever" in the allegations.

Gore was bailed and will be sentenced in three weeks.

Earlier the court had been told that the GP had squeezed the patient's breasts while carrying out routine examinations for headaches and a chest infection.

It also heard that Gore had become "fixated" with the 26-year-old woman and had asked her out to dinner.

In an interview with police officers Gore said: "I must have inquired about her wellbeing and depression -- but I deny asking her out for a meal or anything like that."
