TWO former foster carers appeared at Salford Magistrates Court on Tuesday on charges of child cruelty.
Lynne Sheridan and Lesley Broughton, both aged 30, spoke only to confirm their names, addresses and dates of birth.
The pair, of Brookhouse Close, Bolton, were charged last week by police with wilful neglect, administering noxious substances and deception.
The cruelty charges relate to a period when the pair, who previously lived in Little Hulton, had two sisters, aged nine and 11, in their care.
Magistrates granted the pair conditional bail before they return to court later this month.
The cruelty charges will be dealt with at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester on November 26.
