A SUCCESSFUL scheme to encourage women entrepreneurs is coming to Bolton.

The Women's Business Network North West is looking for new participants following the success of a pilot project Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs in Merseyside.

The scheme was started after Government figures revealed that only 23 per cent of entrepreneurs starting businesses are women.

Research found that women do not relate to the traditional business support groups; feel intimidated when networking by a majority of participants being "men in suits" and face difficulties being taken seriously for funding.

The Merseyside pilot claims that 13 per cent of its participants started a business and 73 per cent said it had given them an increased motivation.
