I'M glad that Welsh actress Ruth Madoc felt at home in Bolton's Bromwich Street while filming for TV.
Some of the street's houses were specially chosen for the drama Mine All Mine because they resemble the Mumbles area of Swansea.
It's good to see any part of The Haulgh so nicely commended because it usually comes in for criticism and negative reportage.
Residents there may like to know that this part of South Wales is especially beautiful.
My mum was born in Swansea and I know the Mumbles well -- it's a really lovely part of the world, with a fabulous coastline sweeping around Swansea Bay.
It's a compliment to Bromwich Street to be compared with such a great place. And Ruth, a native of South Wales herself, certainly seemed to enjoy the "authentic" atmosphere.
