WE had temporarily forgotten just how haunted Kevin and Nicola Wells and Sharon and Les Chapman looked, but the start of the Soham trial has brought it all back.
Only a heart of stone could fail to respond to the enduring pain and sadness that the parents of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman are plainly going through.
Sadly, the agony is likely to continue until next year as the trial of Ian Huntley and Maxine Carr rumbles on.
The only thing we can hope for these tragic parents is that they can have some sort of peace when the trial is over. God knows they deserve it, whatever the verdict.
