A MAN who threatened to jump off a Bolton railway bridge was talked down by a trained police negotiator after more than an hour on Sunday.
British Transport Police officers and fire crews were called to the railway bridge over Crompton Way near Hall i' th' Wood train station at around 4pm. Trains were halted as the man perched on the bridge.
The negotiator managed to talk him down after more than an hour. No details of the man were known today. He was taken unhurt to the Royal Bolton Hospital for a check-up.
