TOP class golfers from all over the country gathered at Bolton Old Links for the 36 hole scratch competition.
The Old Links Trophy, a Northern Order of Merit qualifier, is sponsored by jewellers Preston and Duckworth.
Cheshire county player Richard Walker, a reserve for the Walker Cup international team, put his disappointment at not making the team to one side as he scored 67 to overcome Gary Boardman and rising young star Michael Kanski, who both returned 68.
