Magic Moment

BIG Bruno's smile, wider than the Nat Lofthouse Stand, said it all. That second goal, well-worked by Okocha and Stelios, meant that vital first victory was in the bag. Boro already looked beaten but suddenly there was no way back.

Moan of the Match

WATCHING Phil Dowd dish out so many bookings - including N'Gotty for celebrating his goal - it was staggering to see the ref keep his cards in his pocket when Cooper wrestled Nolan to the ground. Not a straight red but a definite yellow - and that would have seen the Boro man walk.

Man of the Match:

KEVIN DAVIES

NOT only singled out by Sam Allardyce but won almost unanimous recognition for a performance of power, character and quality. Never gave Southgate a Co a minute's peace with his powerful runs and determined hold-up play. His goal wasn't bad either!
