WAYNE Rooney's heroics for the england football team against Liechtenstein helped keep a Hollywood heart-throb out of the spotlight on Wednesday.
Observant Bolton Evening News reporter Kathryn Eccles noticed Jude Law, whose films include Road To Perdition and The Talented Mr Ripley, sitting a few seats away from her press box vantage point at Old Trafford.
The A-list actor has rarely been out of the news recently because of his high-profile divorce from actress Sadie Frost.
But the talented Mr Rooney ensured that the attention of the near-65,000 crowd -- including Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce, sitting just behind Jude -- was fixed on the pitch.
And ever the professional, our Kathryn only had eyes for the game.
