LANCASHIRE Road Club's Glen Kenyon smashed his previous best time for a race by nearly four minutes at the weekend.
The difference is quite a feat considering the fact that the race in question was only five miles long.
Glen was LRC's only rider in the event -- the Border City Wheelers hill climb on Hartside Pass -- and finished 11th overall in a time of 19:57.
LRC's veterans were out in force in a 25-mile event and a 30-mile race over similar roads.
Their times for the shorter race were: Colin Greenhalgh 1:6:33, Gordon Holt 1:6:51, Keith Tattersall 1:7:7, Alex Munro 1:7:52, Len Kerry 1:11:31 & Stan Simister 1:13:27.
In the 30-mile event, their times were, Gordon Holt 1:19:49, Colin Greenhalgh 1:20:38, Keith Tattersall 1:21:18, Alex Munro 1:21:25, John Partington 1:27:04 and Len Kerry 1:27:59.
