FEARLESS people from Bolton are wanted to take part in an abseil at Manchester's velodrome to raise money for a deaf charity.

The Royal National Institute for the Deaf wants people to abseil 100ft from the top of the velodrome down to the cycling track on Sunday, November 23.

People have to raise a minimum of £145 to take part. Groups of four or more can take part for £130 each. The RNID will use the money raised to fund projects for deaf people in the UK.

For more details, call Lynn Parker on 0161 242 2264, textphone on 0161 242 2314 or e-mail Drop a line...lynn.parker @rnid.org.uk....

A non-refundable deposit of £15 will be required when you register for the abseil.

Fundraising Manager for the North of England Lynn Parker said: "Participants will need nerves of steel for this as they will have to get up to the top of the velodrome before the real challenge even begins! People shouldn't be worried though as trained professionals will be on hand."

The money raised will go towards projects throughout the UK, such as the Employment, Learning and Skills Service (ELSS) to find deaf people work.

There are just 10 places available for people wanting to abseil 100ft.
