BOLTON School Girls' Division has raised nearly £10,000 for charities over the last 12 months through various fundraising events and £3,500 of the money was donated to street children in Southern India where a new home has been built for 35 girls.
The total amount raised for charities was announced at the Girls' Division sixth form presentation evening.
Guest speaker was Brian Cunningham, a professor at Manchester Business School, who earlier this year attempted to travel across Antartica from the South Pole in a kite-powered buggy. Governor Sue Hodgkiss presented the prizes.
