School bids to get
bands on the road
A RECORDING school is gearing up to help aspiring Bolton bands become as successful as local acts Badly Drawn Boy and Kinesis.
The School of Sound Recording (SSR), in Manchester, has launched its new band development service, designed to help budding bands and musicians make that elusive leap into the big-time.
The service offers advice from industry consultants, tuition from experienced musicians and access to state-of-the-art recording facilities with professional engineers. It can also teach people how to organise a gig, approach a record label or improve their playing.
Graduates of the SSR school have gone on to work alongside artists such as Ms Dynamite, Madonna, New Order and U2.
For more details about the service, visit the website www.s-s-r.com, or call 0161 228 1830.
