A TEENAGER suffered a head injury and two broken wrists when he fell off the back of a taxi in Bolton.
The 17-year-old had climbed on to the boot of the private hire Toyota Carina as it set off along Blackburn Road near to the junction of Water Meetings Road.
Police say there was a dispute between two groups of people over the taxi at about 2.40am today.
When one party got inside the vehicle, the teenager, who is believed to have been drinking, decided to jump on the back.
As the taxi moved away, he fell on to the carriageway and was injured. Witnesses say the driver was not at fault and did not realise what the teenager had done. The youth was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment and detained.
