THIEVES attempted to ram raid a security depot in Kearsley using a van they had stolen at gunpoint from Prestwich.
The white Transit was crashed into a wall at Securitas UK's regional office on Lyon Road industrial estate in Springfield Road, at about 10pm yesterday.
The gang fled the scene and abandoned the van after their efforts failed.
About an hour earlier, the van had been stolen from outside a house in Hastings Road, Prestwich, after the owner was threatened with a gun.
