DAREDEVILS with a head for heights are being asked to abseil 100 feet down the side of a town centre building to help raise money for Brake, the national charity for road safety. Fund-raisers will abseil off the roof of Wellsprings, off Victoria Square, Bolton, on Sunday, August 31, between 10am and 2pm. The abseil will be run by qualified instructors who will provide training on the day.
Anyone aged over 18 who is interested and can raise more than £80 in sponsorship, should contact Rebecca at Brake on 01484 559909 or email abseil@brake.org.uk
Brake is a national organisation working to stop death and serious injury on UK roads and caring for those whose lives have been changed forever by a road crash. They say every week on UK roads 66 people are killed and 734 are seriously injured.
